ABOUT OUR BEAUTIFUL, COLORFUL AREA!
Speechless Sunday
(almost!): Powdered Sugar Dusting!

And look what we woke up to this
morning! Almost as if someone had taken a huge powdered sugar
shaker and transformed the entire countryside into a winter
wonderland in a matter of hours. Thankful for the snow, yes, but
hoping it is our last winter storm as we get closer to welcoming
in the Spring season!
C'mon Spring! I'm rooting for you!
Speechless Sunday
(almost!): Sleeping giant...shhhh no wakey!

A creature this size deserves the
utmost respect when in its presence, so tip toe quietly around
him as you admire his dramatic features and timeless beauty. If
you startle him into conciousness, there are no guarantees for
your safety as he is one powerful beast!
He could suddenly grasp you in his
trunk or stomp the ground causing multiple tremors, suddenly
throwing you off-balance, causing you to meet the ground in a
horizontal posture...so shhhh no wakey!
..................................
This is a boulder I came across as
my husband was landscaping a new park at Stone
Cliff in St.
George, Utah, a gated community that sits high upon a sandstone
bluff in Washington County. For more information on Stone Cliff
or other southern Utah communities, contact me: Wanda

No
bull here!
Two sisters, one not very smart and one older, inherit the
family farm and are in dire need of a bull to mate with the
females to generate some income to stay afloat.
The older sister decides to take
$400, the last of the money they have to market to purchase a
breeder bull. Telling her sister that if she decides to buy one,
she will send a message for her to bring the trailer to pick
them up.
She buys a bull for $399 and
proceeds to the telegraph office to send a message to her sister
to meet them. The only problem is that each word costs a dollar
and she only has $1.
She is only able to send her
sister one word. She decides on the word comfortable. She writes
it down and gives instructions to send it. The telegraph person
wonders how the sister will know what is meant with one word
and asks,"How will she know what you mean?"
The older sister tells him that
her sister is not very smart, that she would probably read it
very slow...com-for-ta-ble.

Thankful Thursdays: So a customer calls me, says
they're ready to sign...
I offer a free property search on the web site for those
not quite ready to purchase. It is simple, non-intrusive and
allows people to peruse at their leisure.
- Go to www.buynsellutah.com
- Look at the left side of page at the MLS Search tab
- Click on that, type in name and e-mail address
- Wallah! Search southern Utah properties online!
- From there, auto e-mails are available highlighting
search criteria
On one particular day I was notified that someone was on
the site, shot a quick e-mail and offered help. I continued
to make myself available for several months and then he
called saying that he and his wife were ready to sign an
Exclusive Buyer Broker Agreement.
And we did!
It's not what you look at
that matters, it's what you see. ~Henry David Thoreau

Talk about a laugh set in stone!
Sure wish I knew what got him to laughing before he froze that
way. It must have been a great story!
...Or did I interrupt his dinner?
I do see some greens near his mouth and he does look like he is
anticipating his next bite...sorry to be a bother sir, I am on
my way now.
Either way, the imagination is a
great escape, taking an ordinary day and turning it into
a wondrous event! And remember...It's not what you look
at that matters, it's what you see. ~Henry David Thoreau
Happy Thursday!
Wordless Wednesday (almost!):
Twice as refreshing!

Waterfalls create a visual softscape
that draws one in, putting the mind at ease with its sound and
repetitive motion. The key to a successful water feature is to make
it look as natural as possible, keeping in harmony with surrounding
plant material and ground surfaces.
One is a beautiful addition to any
landscape but 2 is twice as refreshing! Ahhhh!
...........................
Southern Utah has a
most beautiful backdrop that enhances the many water features that
dot the landscapes of many communities and commercial businesses.

Speechless Sunday (almost!): Pony up!

'Pony up' is
an expression that means 'to pay'. I'm sure most people would pay a
healthy premium to have access to such remarkable views way up
high. This little pony takes full advantage of the views by
positioning himself at the uppermost point overlooking the city
below and far beyond.
Happy Sunday to you all!

Some facilities offered at the St. George area parks are:

Utahscenic beauty creates a backdrop that shows off the natural
landscape, with towering bluffs and red rock cliffs at every turn!

Southern Utah has much to offer
visitors and residents alike, so if you're planning to visit our
area, the St.
George City web site
is a great resource and so is the St.
George Area Chamber of Commerce. And of course, if you're
looking to purchase a home here, I'll be glad to help!
Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Pure reflection

Ever question why people say that a bad day of fishing is better
than a good day at work? After an exceptional day on the lake with
anchors set, calm waters lazily lapping at the hull, the
sun peeking through tufts of clouds, the azure sky, you'll wonder no
more...
Pure reflection at its best.
One of our favorite fishing spots is
at Panguitch Lake where this photo was taken and if you'd like more
information on this beautiful southern Utah recreational area, go
to:

Motivational Monday: Which
path to choose? Your own. Or another's?

A leader:
- Is a free thinker
- Will blaze new directions
- May not be concerned with followship
- Goes outside the comfort zone for results
- Takes risks in order to gain optimum results
- Will fail more times than the average person
A follower:
- Adheres to instructions
- Easily fits into the crowd
- Allows others to pave the way
- Gains from someone elses ideas
- Feels comfortable in a group setting
- Is comfortable when others make major decisions
I admit to being a little of both and being one or the other
is a choice that we make everyday. There is no right or
wrong preference to how you run your business or decisions
made that drive it forward. The path you choose is up to you and
if it works then you've made the choice that suits you best.
Happy Monday everyone!
Speechless Sunday (almost!): Full Moon Rising

Nearing the Diamond
Valley area on
the way home from a busy day, I rounded the curve on a final
stretch that would take me home, until this beautiful sight came
into view. Pulling over, reaching for my camera, I got out of
the car in order to capture the full moon rising in the
distance.
The snow covered mountain range contrasts heavily with the
red colors of the inactive volcanoes to the front, creating a
wondrous scene.
Thankful Thursdays: Southern Utah's future looks bright!

After attending the 2011
Washington County Economic Summit, this sunset was the perfect
ending to a productive, informative day. Its intense colors
were overwhelming at one point, making it difficult to look
directly into it as the sun continued moving downward.
Today I witnessed the Landing of the Flight
for Life helicopter
first thing in the morning and was told thatsouthern
Utah is the best
place to live, work and play. Agreed!
And some motivational advice given while attending classes was:
- Avoid the naysayers and gloom and doomers
- Despite the economy, people still want to do business
- Take the wheel, do not be the passenger and become a victim
- It's ok to move your business forward but you must learn to
be still
- Fairness creates mediocrity, John Stockton, former Utah Jazz
player quote
I received some helpful information but realized this message
still remains the same...It really is UP
TO YOUto achieve your goals and make it happen! No one else
can do it for you. Southern Utah's future looks bright and so does
mine!

Motivational Monday: My Inner Cheerleader
Are you self-motivated?
I am, with help.
What helps you to get up, dress up and show up?
For me, it's my Inner Cheerleader.
She tells me that great things will happen...
- if I get up
- that I will look fantastic if I dress up
- and if I show up, I may just meet someone who could make a
difference in my life
And you know what? She's
right!
But she is also much more than that, she is the one who claps her
virtual hands in honor of me and air pats me on the back for my
accomplishments no matter how small and trivial they may be to
someone else. They are mine and she is proud of me!
She also spreads her positivity to everyone I meet face-to-face
and to friends I've gained here on ActiveRain, cheering you on
because because she wants us all to succeed. So I hope you do not
think it is selfish that when I congratulate you on a new
designation, a listing or a successful transaction that I am also
wishing the same for myself.
Seeing you succeed helps me to know that I am also capable of
doing the same. Thank you Inner Cheerleader, I am so very lucky to
have you!
Appreciating what is before you!

As I turned down the dirt road toward home, the
sun was setting, another end to the work day.
Suddenly the colors started forming, the oranges,
the reds, the yellows and as I tried to find a place
to park, fumble to get the camera out of its case, I
knew my window of photo oppportunity was f-a-d-i-n-g
f-a-s-t!
I just pulled over to the side of the road and
started taking pictures from the driver window and
was able to get the end of a magnificent sunset!
Vets
should be honored every day for the sacrifices they have
made for
our country in my opinion. And believe me, some
have given plenty to make
sure that we have our rights
and privileges and freedoms! Today, Thank a Vet,
they'll
appreciate the gesture!
My father served in the Army, fought in the Vietnam
War, eventually retiring.
Thank you Dad! My husband is
Navy retired and gave 20+ years of his life
to the
military and was in Desert Storm, he is to be
honored today as well!
Thank you honey!
I come from a long line of soldiers who served here
and overseas, some
died during wartime or due to events
that happened while serving. I respect
each and every
one of them and thank them for what they give, like I
said, it's plenty!

As I passed by on the way
home. I had to turn around - twice - in order to get in
position to take this shot! The owner of this dog had
his thinking cap on while designing this mobile canine
unit complete with igloo dog house, food and water dish
and a nice, soft blanket...All the comforts of home for
the dog on-the-go!
And he parked underneath a
huge shade tree near a fire hydrant too (bottom right of
photo), very thoughtful indeed! Happy Sunday to you all!
